About Us
Finding New Frontiers

Watercolor painting has been my main artistic focus for 30 years. The paintings are imagined landscapes that are meant to feel like a moment in time in some far off place. The possibility of “finding” new frontiers has been limited only by my desire to create them. I simply wet the paper, select some colors and go from there.
Growing up in Shelby, Montana, I gained an appreciation for the constantly changing skies over the vast prairie and for the majestic Rocky Mountains. I received my B.F.A. at the University of Montana in 1979. While working as a professional picture framer for 22 years in Missoula and for the last three years in Santa Fe, New Mexico, I exhibited paintings in juried shows, galleries, and art fairs. In 2000, I launched my website www.montanaart.com. It contains images of my paintings and information about where to see my work. In the coming months it will showcase other artists, as well.
In November of 2007, I opened Montana Art and Framing, where I exhibit my work and offer custom framing to artists and the public.
